Does Your Web Developer Understand Your Business?

Important questions to ask before starting your next web project.

As a web design company that focuses on the needs of small business, understanding who you are looking to reach is incredibly important to a successful project. Whenever we are engaged in a new project we want to truly understand your business and customer base. To accomplish this we start with an Interview.

First, we’ll want to meet with you, understand your starting points and your end goals, so that we can create a map of the whole procedure that meets your needs. Common questions that we start with include:

Who is the Target Audience?

  • Can we identify who our primary customers are?
  • What problems do they have that we can help solve?

What is the goal of the website?

  • Is this simply to be an introduction to your business?
  • Are you looking to generate sales online?
  • Are you creating a community of your customer base?

What content already exists?

  • Is there an existing site with content?
  • Is the content on that site up-to-date?
  • Is it appropriate for you to write the content? Or do you need a writer?
  • What other marketing materials exist?

What would you classify as a Conversion?

  • Is this about generating traffic to your site?
  • Will you offer any ebooks, whitepapers or other downloads?
  • If this is transactional, how many more widgets are you looking to sell?

What does success mean to you?

  • Is this about generating traffic to your site?
  • If this is transactional, how many more widgets are you looking to sell?

It’s our preference to have in person meetings, so we can learn more about your business, see your facilities, and truly understand what you do. We have branches in Oakville and Brampton so we can meet most clients in the Greater Toronto Area. Of course – It’s also a virtual world, and we have clients all across Canada and the USA, so if a on-site meeting doesn’t work, we’re happy to have conference calls and screen sharing sessions too.

After we understand the needs of your small business, we can get working on the plan, which includes a blueprint of the project (to give you a feel for the framework of a new website or social media page), conceptual presentations, and building, revising, finalization and launching of the live website.

Hyperweb has helped over 650 small businesses get a better online presence. Knowing the community in which a business is located helps to offer better lead generation services, search engine optimization, pay per click advertising management, and email marketing… all of which we offer to our customers, working to over-deliver on every aspect of the project. Our mantra is as simple as that.
